About this split pdf

Big PDFs are awkward to email and upload. This tool copies the pages you choose into new PDF files with the open-source pdf-lib library, keeping the original quality, text and links — and because it runs in your browser, your documents stay private.

How to use the Split PDF

  1. Drop the PDF you want to split.
  2. Choose a mode: extract pages into one new file, delete pages, split by ranges, save every page separately, or cut into chunks of N pages.
  3. Type the page numbers or ranges, for example 1-3, 7, 10- (10- means page 10 to the end).
  4. Press Split PDF. One file downloads straight away; several files can be downloaded individually or as a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

How do I extract one page from a PDF?

Choose Extract pages, type the page number (for example 3) and press Split PDF. A new PDF with just that page downloads.

Does splitting reduce quality?

No. Pages are copied as they are, so text, images and vector graphics keep their original quality.

How do I delete pages from a PDF?

Choose Delete pages and enter the pages to remove, such as 2, 5-6. Everything else is saved into a new PDF.

Is there a page or size limit?

There is no fixed limit. Very large files depend on your device’s memory; most phones handle a few hundred pages.

Can I combine pages from different PDFs?

Use Split PDF to extract the pages you need, then join the files with our PDF Merge tool.
